DeAnna has lived in Whatcom County her whole life, is married and has two boys and one girl. They all love the water; water sports are big in their family. DeAnna loves boating, jet skiing, snorkeling, boogie boarding, swimming, paddle boarding and anything else to do with water, and also has competed in triathlons.
DeAnna started in the Aquatic programs in the late 1980’s by taking lifeguard classes, aquatic swim program certifications, W.S.I, Fitness Instructor Certification, Water Fitness instructor and others.
DeAnna loves teaching other people a life skill that they can use the rest of their life, keep them active, and save their life.
Marissa Leaman has been a lifeguard at Homestead Fitness for the last two years. She currently lives in Whatcom County where she loves the small town feel of the community. Marissa grew up in the water while living in San Diego, CA. She loves boating, jet skiing, swimming and any other water activities. Marissa swam competitively for over 12 years and played water polo for over four, winning multiple awards for her efforts.
She loves teaching and training individuals in both swim and water polo. Her goal at Homestead is to make sure that everyone is safe and has a good time while in the pool.
Marissa is certified in First Aid for Public Safety Personnel (Title 22), Lifeguarding, First Aid, Parent & Tot instructor Certification, CPR, & AED.
