MEET THE TRAINERS

Ruth Deboer

Ruth started exercising in college and has consistently worked out ever since. She has studied, participated in and taught a broad range of fitness activities including Step, Floor, Bootcamp, Kickboxing, Pilates, Seniors, Water Aerobics, and running, including a few half marathons. She is AFAA certified in Group Exercise and Personal Training.

Jessica Libolt

Jessica is a personal trainer and group fitness instructor at Homestead. She is a graduate of Western Washington University with a degree in Exercise Science and Whatcom Community College with a certificate in Massage Therapy. She has a passion for helping people achieve optimal health and wellness through both fitness and massage.

Tyler is a certified personal trainer through the NASM. He grew up playing all different sports through high school, and really began his interest in fitness during his time at CWU. Lifting weights became a favorite past-time, and after a few years of learning the ins and outs of proper form and technique, he decided to pursue his certification to help others in their fitness journey. Whether you are a high school athlete, or a retiree who wants to get back in the gym, Tyler wants to help people train hard and train smart to avoid injury and enjoy their best life.

Bethany Slofstra

Bethany graduated with a BA degree in exercise science, and was certified as a fitness instructor in British Columbia. She is an AFFA certified personal trainer and is trained in pre and post natal fitness. Although she enjoys working with clients in all walks of life, she especially enjoys working with those who feel "they have let themselves go" and are wanting to make their health a priority. Bethany's goal is for her clients to leave sessions feeling better not just physically, but holistically.

Jenn Ryan

Jenn has been involved in fitness for over 20 years.  Although she never considered herself a “sporty” kid, she joined a gym on her own at 16 and has been hooked ever since!  Jenn has her BA in Human Services from WWU, and is ACE certified as a personal trainer and health coach.  She loves running and is almost always signed up for a race-from 5k to marathon.  Jenn’s favorite part of personal training is seeing her clients achieve their goals and loves walking with them through the ups and downs of the journey-both physical and emotional.

Hannah Jacob

Hannah has loved athletics and fitness all her life. She played many high school sports as well as volleyball in college, and now lifts weights regularly and participates in triathlons. She is a CPT through ACSM, has a BS in Exercise Science, and a career concentration in Strength & Conditioning. This involved being the strength coach for Northwestern College’s Women’s Basketball team for a semester. Living life to the fullest is her mantra, and one she wants to help everyone achieve - whether you are an athlete, a mom, or a grandpa.
